Articulation

Krystal Articulation Methods

Splitcast Method

Used with Vertex - Orbix or Kwikalator Articulators

Traditional Articulation

Splitcast Method

Insert a retaining clip into the square holes at the rear of the tray and push it firmly home, there may be a little initial resistance but the clip will go fully in.

Withdraw the retaining clip and insert a Krystal Sintered Magnet into the round hole in the base of the Krystal Model Tray, push this magnet firmly home.

Re-insert the retaining clip and push it firmly home until the end of the clip is hard against the rear of the tray. The magnet is now held securely in the Krystal tray.

Articulation Plate

Place a retaining disk onto the articulation plate so that the top of the disk is flush with the surface of the plate.

Hold the disk in place and position the Krystal Articulation Plate onto the base of the Krystal Model Tray making sure that the three conical locating points are housed in their appropriate conical shaped holes. The magnet will hold the metal disk and articulation plate on the tray while the mounting plaster is applied.

Articulate with Plaster in the usual manner

Most disposable articulators can now be fixed to the vertical face of the Krystal adaptor. To remove the retaining tongue simply pull out the Krystal adaptor from the rear of the Krystal Tray together with the articulator attached. The adaptor can also be used with the Krystal Quad Trays .

Traditional Articulation

Place a small amount of SnapBlok putty into the magnet hole on the underside of the Krystal Tray, sufficient to fill this hole.
Cover the base of all sections of the model in the Krystal Tray with a separator, e.g. petroleum jelly.
Now cover the the underside of the Krystal Tray with basing/articulation stone and articulate in the conventional manner.
